Barbara began her yoga journey in 1992 and undertook her teacher training, in 2006, with her now teachers and mentors A. G. Mohan & Indra Mohan of Svastha Yoga & Ayurveda. She continues to deepen her understanding of Yoga and Ayurveda via studies with the Mohan family, including their son Ganesh and daughter Nitya, and is honoured to be on the team of dedicated and inspirational teachers in the worldwide SYA organisation. Barbara’s interest in yoga therapy was sparked during her initial training with the Mohans and she commenced her YT studies in 2010, receiving her certification (C-IAYT) with The International Association of Yoga Therapists in 2016. Barbara’s greatest desire is to see yoga therapy recognised as complementary to mainstream medicine and she continues to promote the benefits of yoga therapy to health professionals. Barbara teaches a 200-hour YTT program and facilitates and co-teaches the Svastha Yoga Therapy Program in NZ. She is passionate about remaining true to the roots of yoga and presents yoga as a pathway to personal reintegration – body and mind, helping people achieve their goals around health and well-being, using the many tools of yoga.
