Hauora Yoga Roadshow 2019
The Hauora Roadshow is all about connecting with, and supporting the yoga community in New Zealand. It is being held in eight cities from Auckland to Dunedin from June 10 to 19 (list of dates and cities below).
There are two options for attendees in 2019:
Option One: Forum Only ~ 10.45am – Midday
Attend the yoga forum being facilitated by YogaNZ and ExerciseNZ to discuss how these organisations are supporting the yoga community and yoga teachers in New Zealand. Learn about the people and the planning, as well as add your own voice to the national yoga conversation. As part of this session: A new income stream for yoga teachers and studios – learn how to package and offer your yoga services within a stress management programmes that are endorsed and tax deductible for employers. Investment: Only $29.
Option Two: Forum & Education Sessions ~ 9am – Midday
Attend the yoga forum (above) plus a mini keynote- including updates and happenings in the Exercise and Movement industry in NZ (held in conjunction with the ExerciseNZ Roadshow). There will also be an opportunity to connect with the wider exercise and movement industry and to learn from one of the exercise industry’s most respected movement and fascia gurus, Ian O’Dwyer, as he brings his research and wisdom to the yoga community. Investment: Only $79.
Presenter: Ian O’Dwyer
Ian is one of the leading Australasian experts in the areas of fascia and movement. His passion is enhancing the experience for the teacher and the end user, providing solutions to many difficult questions and cases. His background incorporates observation and hands on skills to enable him to create practical applications through an experience of enjoyment, education and empowerment.
Ian’s unique perspective of movement allows him to challenge many of the traditional methods, striving for optimal well-being through better fundamental movement. His ability to facilitate the cutting edge science and research into more user friendly practical exercises and understanding, has seen people become more willing to “change to adapt” their way of practice. Ian’s experience and results have allowed him to help clients across a spectrum of pain and dysfunction – from the sedentary and chronic thought to the elite.
Educational Session: Awareness and Change
A lot of teachers struggle with awareness of what is happening in their own tissues. If you are not feeling, moving or living well then this is reflected in you as you teach. In this session Ian will show you some simple challenges to improve your own body. This will then allow clients to see a more effective person who will provide them solutions. Go through an awareness situation, a simple challenge and experience an instant change using techniques Ian will demonstrate.
